May 17, 2005 — Curran Contracting Co. Inc. Curran Contracting Co. Inc. has agreed to pay $500,000 to settle qui tam claims raised by one of its former employees, Betty Bill. The allegations of the case were that Curran overcharged the government for road building and asphalt paving contracts in northern Illinois between 1990 and 2000. As part of a settlement, the relator who filed the qui tam claims, Ms. Bill, is to receive $125,000 for having filed the claims. See U.S. Dept of Justice Press Release 5/17/05 |
